Jubila Singers roared back to life last night. Well, perhaps not a huge roar since we were taking it easy on our poor, limp singing voices sidelined for a year. But it worked well outside in the community centre’s courtyard which they had adorned with festive night lights to welcome us back. The conductor, moi, had a mild battle with wildlife. After checking that the resident green tree snake was not hanging from a limb overhead, I then danced most of the night over and around the resident ant nest.
Once again we have to apologise to singers who have been wishing to join us – we still don’t have capacity for new singers and do hope that you find a choir in the area which is a match.
Preparations for the Blackheath Choir Festival in August are under way and we are very relieved and excited that it is going ahead at this stage. Very suddenly it seems as if normality is just around the corner.
Stay safe and keep humming – Jane
